The depiction of the ritual dance “Yalli,” performed by ancient Azerbaijani tribes, is presented on the copper vessel. “Yalli” reflects not only heroic motifs but also the spirit, strength, and unity of ancient communities.

The earliest examples of the “Yalli” dance can be found in the rock carvings of Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape and Gamigaya Petroglyphs, as well as in numerous works of decorative-applied arts and carpet compositions.

The purpose of depicting the “Yalli” dance on copper vessels is to present both the traditional craft of coppersmithing and this centuries-old national dance to younger generations in a more contemporary form.
